Show up anyway...

You can be messy, complicated and afraid. Show up anyway.

You can be terrified and not know what to expect. Show up anyway.

You can have no idea what you're going to talk about. Show up anyway.

You can think that your problems are too big or too small for therapy. Show up anyway.

You can feel that you're not worthy of a therapist's time and that it won't work for you. Show up anyway.

You can think that there's something seriously wrong with you, something that is beyond help. Show up anyway.

You can be drowning in shame and guilt and feel that you can never share your deepest fears or secrets. Show up anyway.

You can think that seeking therapy makes you weak and helpless. Show up anyway.

You might think that I won't know what to do with you and that I'll be unable to help you. Show up anyway.

Just show up anyway. Just by talking, it may make a difference. I can't promise to make you feel better but I can promise to try very hard to help - and you may surprise yourself anyway.

Don't wait too long. Just show up anyway.
